MSc Civil Engineer with Masters Degree in Transport (2000) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He has been working for ACCIONA Ingeniería since 2000 as Senior Expert of Transport Projects (trams, metros, BRT, roads and raylways) in Spain, Egypt, Brazil, Colombia and El Salvador. In January 2013 he was appointed Director of the Tendering, Contracting and Marketing Department and in April 2015 he was also appointed as Director of the Department of Innovation at ACCIONA Ingeniería. His role in the LIFE REMoPaF Project is as Project Manager of the Consortium for internal activities and he is externally responsible for reporting to the European Commission. He manages the project communication and dissemination activities and is also responsible for its financial management.

Natalia García Estévez
Natalia García EstévezAcciona Ingeniería

MSc Forest Engineer from the Technic University of Madrid.

She has been working for ACCIONA Ingeniería since 2001. As Project Manager within the Sustainable Development and Consultancy Services she has coordinated some of the most environmental emblematic projects, always associated with the aquatic and forest environment. From 2015, She is part of the Committee of Surveillance technology of the Company. Her role in the LIFE REMoPaF Project is as Project Manager of the Consortium from April 2017, for internal activities and she is externally responsible for reporting to the European Commission. She manages the project communication and dissemination activities and is also responsible for its financial management.

Patricia Fort Santa-María
Patricia Fort Santa-MaríaACCIONA Ingeniería

MSc Biologist from the Complutense University of Madrid (1998), Masters in Environmental Studies and a Higher Technical qualification in Health&Safety.

Patricia has worked for Acciona Ingeniería since 2000 as an Environmental Officer in the Environment and Climate Change Department.

In the LIFE REMoPaF Project she is responsible for the environmental management and coordination of the project, the coordination of environmental aspects of the structural design, management of technical documents to be submitted to the European Commission, Consortium meetings. Coordination and participation in communication and dissemination of project activities.

Mariano Martín Cañueto
Mariano Martín CañuetoACCIONA Ingeniería

MSc Civil Engineer specialising in Foundations and Structures, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1999).

He has worked for Acciona since 2005 and currently manages the Structures Department where he participates in all the phases of the structures life cycle: design, supervision and technical assistance, pathology and maintenance of the structure in close collaboration with the innovation and the development of new construction materials and technologies.

As part of the LIFE REMoPaF Project he is responsible for the structural activities of the project, focussing on the structural design of the sheets where the species will be translocated, along with the definition and calculation of the material that will comprise the sheet.

Sandra Hernández del Olmo
Sandra Hernández del OlmoACCIONA Ingeniería

MSc in Chemistry specialising in Inorganic Chemistry, from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2005). She has worked for Acciona Ingeniería since 2006, in the Technological Innovation Department, as Innovation officer working on projects for new materials in civil construction and the financial management of the department’s projects. Since 2010 she is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of ACCIONA Ingeniería’s Innovation Management System. In the LIFE REMoPaF Project she is responsible for the preparation of technical documentation as well as the financial management and coordination of the various activities encompassed within the project.

Ángel Carrasco Conejo:ACCIONA Ingeniería

MSc Civil Engineering, specialising in Foundations and Structures, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1990) and has worked for ACCIONA Ingeniería since that date in various Departments related to Concrete Structures (Buildings, Bridges, Civil Works, etc.). From 2004 to 2010 he was manager of the Structures Department of Iberinsa (nowadays ACICONA Ingeniería). Currently he works in the Maritime Projects Department where he participates in the design, calculation, supervision and technical assistance for concrete structures in the marine field. In the LIFE REMoPaF Project, he is responsible for the structural design and the supervision of the anchors for the AIMS.

Ernestina Morales Furió

Degree in Law  from the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) (2002), Master in Business Administration (MBA).

She has worked in Acciona since 2005 and in ACCIONA Ingeniería since 2013 as Project Officer in the Tendering and Contracting Department.
In the LIFE project REMoPaF, Ernestina is responsible for reviewing legal issues associated with the project, as well as she is responsible for document management for communication and dissemination, marketing, administration duties and contracting.

University of Seville

Dr. José Carlos García Gómez
Dr. José Carlos García GómezUniversity of Seville
Professor of zoology and director of the Marine Biology Laboratory of the University of Seville, he is the author of more than 200 research articles in scientific journals and several books. He has led and participated in marine biology campaigns in European and North African waters (especially in Ceuta), Antarctica and the coral reefs of the Red Sea and Indian and Pacific oceans. He has been also a PhD Dissertation Supervisor on 20 occasions. Awarded with the Andalusian Environmental Award (1996), the Spanish National Environment Award (1997), and, together with his team, the UNESCO CMAS International Marine Environmental Award (1998). He has recently been awarded the Golden Trident (2011) for Underwater Scientific Research by the “International Academy of Underwater Sciences and Techniques”.

He commenced his scientific career focused on the taxonomy of nudibranch molluscs, a research line from which he participated in numerous international magazine publications. Afterwards, following his interest in the conservation of the seabed, he focused on the management of the littoral environment, leading numerous research projects and contracts with public organizations and private companies. At present, his research is mainly focused on the study of the Guadalquivir river estuary.

In this project he is in charge of the scientific design of the new methodology to be tested, as well as its implementation. He also brings his extensive experience with Patella ferruginea. José Carlos García Gómez, is in charge of the scientific coordination of the project as Principal Investigator.

 Dr. Free Espinosa Torre

University Professor, he completed the specialty of Marine Biology at the University of Santiago de Compostela where he collaborated in research at the Bentos Laboratory. He completed his PhD thesis at the University of Seville, within the Marine Biology Laboratory research group, developing a line focused on the conservation of marine invertebrates and the role of artificial substrates as habitats that are used by some threatened species such as Patella ferruginea, Cymbula safiana or Astroides calycularis.

In this project he is in charge of the scientific design of the new methodology to be tested, as well as its implementation. He also brings his extensive experience with Patella ferruginea.

Dr. Manuel Maestre Delgado

MSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Seville in 2002 and Master’s Degree in Coastal and Marine Sustainable Management, awarded by the University of Cadiz in 2007.

He joined the Marine Biology Laboratory of the Biology Faculty in 2001. In 2016 he obtained a PhD from the University of Seville. He has developed his professional activity in several areas such as coastal environmental management, conservation programmes, bionomic mapping, management of endangered species, influence of artificial substrates on marine communities,…; collaborating in various projects both at national and international level.

In this project he is in charge of the scientific design of the new methodology to be tested, as well as its implementation. He also brings his extensive experience with Patella ferruginea.

Port Authority of Melilla

Chemical Engineer from the University of Málaga, MBA from EOI, Master in Quality and environment and Superior Technician from PRL. She is working for the Port Authority of Melilla coordinating the Quality, environment and PRL. Department since 2008. At the Project LIFE REMOPAF she is the responsible of the environmental managements of the implementation of the Project in Melilla as well as coordinating, along with Juan Manuel Paramio, the necessary construction works, monitoring and control of those ones and transport with juvenile specimens From Patella Ferruginea to the peninsula.

Juan Manuel ParamioPort Authority of Melilla
Engineer of Roads, Channels and Ports by the Polytechinc University of Madrid, specialized in Maritime Works. He has collaborated in research Projects of the Universidad Politecnica of Madrid from 1998 to 2001 when he started to work  at the National Consultancy  Department of ports.

Currently he´s working as head of the Infraestructures department of Melilla port since 2006.

María Isabel Cotaina Castro

In charge of Safety Health and Environment at the Authority of Melilla Port. Environmental Science Degree by the University of Granada. More than 15 years of professional experience in environmental technical assistance. Master in Water Technologies and Senior Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention. Within LIFE REMoPaF project, she works on the characterization of the donor area located in the outer breakwater of the Port of Melilla, she also carries out the monitoring of the receiving structures (AIMS) for the protected species of Patella ferruginea.
